About RTI Act
Citizens may seek information from the Commission under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The Right to Information Act, 2005 empowers every citizen to seek information from any public authority. The
NSHRC, being a statutory public authority, is obliged to disclose information proactively and respond to RTI
applications.
⏱ RTI applications must be responded to within 30 days. First appeals
must be decided within 30 days from the date of filing.
