About the Organisation
The Nagaland State Human Rights Commission works to protect and promote human rights across Nagaland.
The Nagaland State Human Rights Commission (NSHRC) was formally established on March 11, 2023 under the provisions of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. It is a statutory body constituted by the Governor of Nagaland.
The Commission serves as the watchdog of human rights within the State of Nagaland, tasked with safeguarding rights relating to life, liberty, equality, and dignity of individuals.
NSHRC can inquire into complaints of human rights violations under the State List and Concurrent List of the Seventh Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
